    Use the round barrel port rather than USB-C

    Many Lenovo gaming models have both. The barrel slim tip port carries the full wattage. USB-C charging on those machines is capped at 65 or 100 watts and is meant for light use, so games will always pull from the battery when you charge that way.

    Set the power mode to Performance while on mains

    Press the Windows key, type Choose a power plan and open it, or use Lenovo Vantage. In Vantage open Device, Power, and set Thermal Mode or Smart Power to Performance or Extreme Performance while plugged in. Lenovo Vantage is the official tool and is free in the Microsoft Store.

    Turn off Conservation Mode and check charge thresholds

    In Lenovo Vantage under Device, Power, look for Conservation Mode or Battery Charge Threshold. Conservation Mode stops charging around sixty percent, which looks exactly like slow discharging. Switch it off if you need a full battery, or leave it on if the laptop mostly lives on the desk.

    Cap the frame rate so the parts stop asking for peak power

    In the game settings turn on V-Sync, or set a frame limit that matches your screen, for example 60 or 120 frames a second. A card that stops rendering 300 frames a second on a menu screen draws far less power and the drain usually stops immediately.

    Update the firmware and power management driver

    Open Lenovo Vantage, go to System Update and install everything, especially the BIOS and the Lenovo Power Management driver. Lenovo has shipped fixes for chargers being read at the wrong wattage on several Legion and IdeaPad models.

If none of that worked

A drain of one or two percent an hour during heavy games with the correct charger is normal behaviour for a gaming laptop and not a fault. If the battery drops steadily on the desktop while plugged in, get the charger and the charging board checked.
